Military Officer and Director of the Subcommission Monuments, Fine Arts and Archives (MFAA), Architect


American landscape architect, in 1943 Norman T. Newton was sent to Italy as a member of the MFAA Subcommission. Until August 1945, he was a regional officer for Veneto and Venezia Giulia. He was later appointed director of the subcommittee until February 1946. He returned to his homeland and resumed his job at Harvard where he remained until 1966; the following year he became Resident Lanscape Architect at the American Academy of Rome.
